All councillors are required to comply with the Council’s downloadable Code of Conduct (PDF, 114Kb). The Code sets out the standards of conduct that are required of councillors. From 8 May 2008 the responsibility for considering complaints that a member may have breached the Code of Conduct is moving to the standards committees of local authorities.
The types of complaint that Standards Committees can consider are described in the downloadable How to make a complaint about a councillor (PDF, 516Kb) publication.
