"I would like to congratulate and thank all our winners who have given so much of their time and effort to make their communities a better place to live. The number of people who go out of their way to help others is humbling and proves that everyone can play a part in Babergh's success," commented Rex Thake, Babergh District Council's Chairman following the presentation of 24 Community Achievement Awards at Babergh's annual ceremony.
The awards scheme attracted a record-breaking number of nominations this year and a new category for voluntary and community groups received some particularly impressive nominations.

Babergh celebrated the 15th anniversary of its Community Achievement Award Scheme this year. The awards ceremony was held on 7th March at Stoke by Nayland and recognised the commitment, creativity and dedication of local people within their villages and schools. The winners received a framed certificate, a crystal glass and a photograph of the event.
The winners received their awards from Peter Tyrer, Director/Company Secretary of Prolog, who have sponsored the event for the past six years and Rex Thake, Chairman of the Council. The guest of honour was Mark Murphy, BBC Radio Suffolk's Breakfast programme presenter.
