Shirley is nominated for researching the history of the 236 names on Sudbury's First World War memorial. For over 4 years she has painstakingly researched the stories, uncovering poignant anecdotes and little-known facts behind the men and their families culminating in a lasting memorial at the Sudbury Heritage Centre.
