Community Safety

Community Safety is not just about tackling crime and disorder. It is about improving YOUR quality of life and reducing the fear of crime.

Babergh has one of the lowest crime rates in the whole of Suffolk. Infact it is HALF THE NATIONAL AVERAGE. You have a 95% chance of never being a victim of crime.

Although Babergh is very safe the district council are working hard to reduce crime and the fear of crime even more. They have a special team dedicated to community safety issues. If you would like to find out about their various projects and issues they can help YOU with please read through the various headings below.

As part of Babergh's commitment to community safety work we want to understand your experiences of crime and anti-social behaviour. We want this information so we can improve the services that the Council and the Police put in place by identifying the issues of most importance to local people. Please spare a few moments to fill out our survey by clicking the link here Crime and Anti-social Behaviour Survey.

All information collected is kept strictly confidential. Information about you and where you live is only used to better understand the issues and where they occur, this information will not be used for any other purpose. Thank you

Home Office
If communities are to be made still safer, everyone - from the heart of national government, through regional and local partners, right through to neighbourhoods and the people who live in them - must play their part. The National Community Safety Plan (NCSP) was published in November 2005 to help achieve this.
