The Crime and Disorder Act 1998 placed a statutory duty on Babergh District Council, Suffolk County Council, Suffolk Constabulary, The Primary Care Trusts, Suffolk Police Authority, and Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service to work with other organisations to tackle crime and disorder.
