Summary

We offer a range of ways for you to pay your Council Tax Bill.

When to pay

Council Tax is due on April 1st each year. The amount you have to pay is divided up over a maximum of 10 monthly instalments (where the bill is issued before April 30th, bills issued after May 1st will receive a reduced number of instalments). Council Tax instalments are due on the first of each month and will be shown on your Council Tax bill, if we have not received your payment by the 10th of each month the Council may take recovery action against you (See: What Happens if I Don’t Pay).

What to do if you have trouble paying

If you are having difficulty in paying please contact us immediately on 01473 825798.

We cannot guarantee that we will be able to help in every case but we will do our utmost to assist you if we can.

There are also a number of independent companies (PDF, 7KB), who can advise you if you are having money troubles.
