The Chairman advised the meeting that he had received requests for site inspections for the following:-

Mr B Riley requested a site inspection to enable Members to assess the impact of the lighting on the amenities of the area.

Full application - erection of two-storey and single-storey rear extensions, 46 Elm Road, Sudbury |
Mr N A Bennett requested a site inspection to enable Members to assess possible loss of light.
The Committee considered the requests for the site inspections but concluded that site visits were not required.

That site inspections be not held in respect of the sites referred to in (a) and (b) above.

The Chief Planning Control Officer introduced Paper G196 which provided an overview of the number of planning applications being considered, an indication of performance against Government targets, information on income from fees and details relating to planning appeals.

That the report be noted.

The Head of Natural and Built Environment submitted a report (Paper G197) on the proposed adoption of the Planning Position Statement for the Wherstead Office Park, Wherstead currently occupied by E.ON which intends to relocate away from the site.
The Statement contained, in Appendix A to Paper G197, a summary of the current relevant policy and development control issues surrounding the site, Babergh’s approach to the re-use of the site, and the adjacent allocated land.
The following updates to the Statement were noted:-
Paragraph 1.2 - final sentence addition of E.ON UK PLC.
Paragraph 2.7 - substitute the figure 370 for the figure 300 in the first line.
Paragraph 9 - The inspection of and enquiries regarding this site should be made to John Spice at Bidwells.
It was noted that the Strategy Committee at its meeting on 7 February would consider any recommendations from the Development Committee and the adoption of the Statement.
RECOMMENDED TO STRATEGY COMMITTEE
That subject to the minor amendments referred to above the adoption and publication of the Planning Policy Statement attached as Appendix A to Paper G197 be agreed.
