Website survey
Summary
|
Information about the current website survey. A summary of the comments we have received and how we have acted upon them.

|
Since October 2006 every 20th visitor to this website is invited to answer ten questions about what they think of it. The people who agree to complete the survey give their feedback when they leave the site.
The survey asks questions like, how they found the site, whether they found the information they needed and whether they would visit again. There are also sections to provide comments about the site.
We aim to improve satisfaction with our website by listening to the comments that have been made and acting upon them.
We are not able to reply to the individuals who have provided feedback via the survey (as it is anonymous). However a selection of the comments and how we have made or intend to make improvements is provided below.
I was looking for information about smoke free working environments. The information is in the Health and Safety pages in Environment and Health section. The page is called Smoke Free Regulations. We have added the link to the A-Z of Services page.
I couldn't find population statistics. We have some statistics on the population by parish page. More detailed statistics can be found on the Neighbourhood statistics website or the Suffolk Observatory website.
I couldn't find any information about allotments. Allotments in Hadleigh are provided by Hadleigh Town Council, for other areas please contact the relevant Parish Council. We have added this information to the A-Z of Services page.
The planning committee papers are under 'Council and Democracy', Why? The main reason for this is because all the committee papers are under 'Council and Democracy'. However this is a valid point and we have added links to the 'Development committee papers' at key points in the planning pages.
The online search for listings for planning applications are by date - so one has to guess the date when an application was filed or decided. The 'quick search' does list applications by date. Above that, on the same page, there is a link to 'start a new search' which allows you to search by many different criteria including, street name, parish and application type.
It would be better if all the matters relating to a planning application were linked. We agree! We are at the beginning of a period of development of the planning pages. We aim to make the pages easier to use with all relevant information relating to an application available online. Please do keep sending us your comments about the pages. All feedback is considered and where possible will be incorporated into the new web page design.
It would be useful to have the Buildings at Risk register by county rather than by address. We weren't too sure what this comment was referring to as we are only responsible for the Buildings at risk in Babergh and the page lists by village then address. However we have added a link to the English Heritage site on the Buildings at Risk page. English Heritage have a register which you can search by many criteria including County.
I could not find the 'state of the district debate 2006'. Our consultation pages are out of date. The team have prioritised updating the pages and information will be available by the end of 2008.
I would like to see a lot more town planning information on the site, particularly the local plan. The local plan is on the site.
I was not able to zoom in on a map. At the moment, all our maps are static. We are working to combine all our map information in one database. By the end of 2007 we intend to have maps online that you can zoom in and out of and show different things like recycling centres, schools and conservation areas.
I couldn't find the Council tax band for a property. Properties are valued by the Valuation Office Agency (VOA). There is a link to their Council tax search on our 'Banding - what band are you' page. However the wording wasn't clear and we have changed it.
I couldn't purchase a brown bin on the web. Currently we can only accept payment for services when you have a reference number like Council tax, Business rates, Car park excess charge notice. We are investigating being able to pay for other services online. In the meantime please see the other methods for paying for a brown bin.
How do I recycle shredded paper? We have added information to the Recycling A-Z for shredded paper.
I couldn't find any reference to Home Start. We have added a links on the Community links page and the Links page.
If you have not been asked to complete the online survey but would like to send us some comments about this website. Please email webmaster@babergh.gov.uk.
