Location Plan

Friars Meadow in Sudbury can be found to the south of Sudbury, close to the Kingfisher Leisure Centre where there is a large long stay car park. It is owned by Babergh District Council.
The Sudbury Common Lands Charity manages Friars Meadow for Babergh District Council along with Kone Vale, the Valley Trail (Sudbury Railway Walk) and Cornard Walk. The Sudbury Commonlands Charity bring their own conservation expertise and skill to this job, plus invaluable local knowledge gained from managing their own common lands to the west of Sudbury.
Friars Meadow is ideal for walking, angling and other casual recreation, although beware – it is a water meadow and so gets wet in winter.

Boat trips along the River Stour are organised at selected times of year by The River Stour Trust.
Babergh District Council provides and maintains lifebelts next to the River Stour. If you notice any missing or damaged, please contact us as soon as you are able.
