Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Enforcement Strategy

Summary

Our strategy under the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005 to tackle crimes that impact on the quality of the local environment.

Left unchecked, environmental crimes such as littering, graffiti, fly-posting, nuisance vehicles, dog fouling and fly-tipping, can quickly blight local neighbourhoods and contribute to an environment where other crime and disorder can proliferate.

The Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005 has brought together a wide range of powers to enable local authorities to tackle crimes that impact on the quality of the local environment.  Babergh District Council's strategy for enforcing the regime, which includes issuing Fixed Penalty Notices is the downloadable Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Enforcement Strategy (PDF, 468Kb).
