Introduction

Summary

Role of the Babergh Health and Safety team and how it relates to the work done by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

Babergh District Council Environmental Services enforce health and safety in premises including offices, shops, warehouses, residential homes, tyre and exhaust centres, churches, catering and leisure facilities.

Our roles include:

  • Accident investigation,
  • Health and safety advice,
  • Dealing with complaints, and
  • Inspection of workplaces

Other types of workplaces are dealt by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). The Health and Safety Executive (Health & Safety Executive website) enforce safety legislation in premises including factories, motor vehicle repair centres, nursing homes, schools, hospitals, construction sites, domestic premises, farms.
