Pest Control Service

Summary

A guide to our Pest Control Service and advice on various pests.

Babergh District Council offers a subsidised Pest Control Service. Our contractor (K9 Euro Limited) will only treat pests that are considered to be a public health pest.

The pests that we will treat are;
        mice, rats, wasps, fleas, bed bugs and cockroaches.

Wasps and Bees

Wasps are a common problem, especially if they are nesting in your garden or in your house. Our Pest Control Officer can treat this problem, but firstly it is  important to check that they are definitely Wasps. If they are honey bees we are unable to treat or remove the nest and a Bee Keeper must be called as they are protected. We can only treat the problem if the bees are creating an extreme nuisance, for example if they are nesting directly in your house.

Bumble bees do nest in the summer, but the nests tend to be smaller than that of the honey bee or wasp. Bumble bees are also less likely to swarm and will die out as soon as the temperature drops. Bumble bees will encourage plant life in your area, but if they are causing a direct nuisance please phone us.

Please verify the identity of the insect in or on your property:
