How to Purchase a New Refuse Bin

Residents are referred to the Council’s Refuse Collection Policy on householder responsibility regarding bin ownership.

You may need to purchase a new, wheeled bin for one of the following reasons:

1) You have moved into either a new home where bins have not been provided by the developer, or into a home where the previous owners may have removed the bins.

In either case, if you purchase a black bin from the Council, you will receive a blue bin for recyclable materials free of charge.

You can purchase a new bin online via Customer Services Direct (CSD)

2) Your bin has been lost, stolen or damaged beyond use.

Replacement bins are available from the Council at rates which are very competitive with the retail sector (and include delivery). Second Hand bins are often available at reduced rates.

If, however, your bin has been ‘swallowed’ by the refuse collection vehicle during the emptying process, your bin will be replaced free of charge. However, please contact the refuse hotline number below to ensure that we know of the loss.
