REAL NAPPIES

Nappy waste prevention has been identified by the government as one of two initial strands to spearhead waste minimisation in the UK.

Real Nappies are a great all round choice for you and your baby.

What are real nappies?

They are nappies made from cotton and are designed to be washed after every use in your washing machine can can be used again and again, not just for one child, but many.

Why go back to cotton?

  • Health - real nappies do not contain the plastics or chemicals that disposable nappies put next to your babies skin
  • Financial - Disposable nappies are expensive. Although the initial outlay to buy real nappies may be high you will save money in the long run.
  • Environment - Each baby using disposable nappies can produce up to half a tonne of nappy waste a year. This ends up in landfills, which are rapidly filling up. Also disposable nappies are mostly made from non-renewable oil resources and wood pulp.
