Introduction to the TwinBin Scheme

Summary

The scheme involves the use of TWO bins with each bin being collected on alternate weeks.

Thanks to your efforts and those of other Babergh residents, the district now recycles more of its domestic waste than ever before. However, in response to local demand for even better recycling facilities, Babergh has introduced the TwinBin scheme.

Babergh’s new TwinBin Scheme is available to almost all households throughout the Babergh District.

The Scheme involves the use of TWO bins with each bin being collected on alternate weeks, ie week one, blue bin: week two, black bin.   The blue bin is for recyclable material and the black bin (or in some cases green) is for residual waste.

Properties that are genuinely unable to accommodate wheeled bins due to lack of space are placed on the Council’s official sack list and are issued with a sack for recyclable material and a sack for residual waste.  The sacks are collected on alternate weeks just like other households.
