Parish Councils have an important part to play in the in the provision of affordable housing for local people.
If you, as a Parish Council, wish to develop an affordable housing scheme for local people in your Parish, we will be happy to work with you to achieve this. Otherwise we may approach you if we believe there is a need for affordable housing within your local community.
We would like your involvement so that you can work in partnership with us, the Suffolk Rural Housing Enabler Service, and one of our approved Housing Associations to bring forward affordable housing to benefit your local community. Together we can help you carry out a local needs housing survey and identify potential sites for a scheme in your parish.
For further information please see our guide outlining how you can progress a housing scheme to meet the needs of your parish.
We would be very pleased to attend one of your parish meetings and can provide you with a short presentation on affordable housing issues to help start the process off in your parish.
Our aim is that any local needs housing needs housing developed in your parish will essentially be your scheme. Our role is to co-ordinate and assist you with delivering a successful housing scheme which meets the needs of local people.
