Babergh District Council launches its new website today (14th July) with the hope that it will make access to information and services easier and faster for users.
“The new website is just one part – albeit an important one – of Babergh’s ongoing programme of investment in new technologies aimed at offering residents choices as to how they contact and interact with their Council” explained Cllr. Duncan Read, Chairman of Babergh’s E-Government Steering Group.
The new Babergh website is easier to use and navigate around than the previous one, contains more information than ever before, allows residents to pay their Council Tax, Council House rent, business rates and car park fines and contains up-to-date news from Babergh. It also hosts a guest book where users can post up questions for the Council to answer.
One of the simplest – but potentially most significant changes – has been the inclusion of full contact details at the end of every article on the website. This should make it easier for users to follow up their search on the website by contacting the relevant professional at Babergh.
Equally, Babergh is keen to promote local community groups by offering links from the Council’s website to those of the groups.
“We hope that ever greater numbers of Babergh residents will find the website to be of real help in addressing their questions and problems” concluded Cllr. Read.
Users can easily 'Make a Payment' by following the link on the right hand side menu of any page. |
