The Bridge Project, the Sudbury-based charity that provides vocational education and training for residents with a disability, looks set to benefit from a Christmas celebration organised by the Chairman of Babergh District Council, Sue Wigglesworth.
“Babergh is actively involved in trying to improve the life of residents and I felt that a Christmas event in which local groups could take an active role would be an enjoyable and fitting way to celebrate the season of goodwill” explained Mrs Wigglesworth.
The celebration – ‘Voices and Verses at Lunch’ will take place at 1pm on 14th December at St. Mary’s Church in Hadleigh. There will be readings, music, wine and a snack lunch. Those taking part will include students from the Bridge Project, a section of the Hadleigh Choral Society called “Serendipity” and an instrumental ensemble brought together by Sue herself, who is a flautist. The Bridge Restaurant will prepare the lunches, which should be booked in advance at £3. Please ring Shirley Langdon at Babergh District Council on 01473 825743.
Admission will be free but there will be a retiring collection with proceeds going to the Bridge Project.
“Everyone is invited to attend and I do hope that as many people as possible will be able to join us” concluded Mrs Wigglesworth
