Babergh District Council is urging community groups to make a New Year’s resolution and get 2006 off to a good start by applying for a grant from its community grants programme. 

Babergh District Council is urging community groups to make a New Year’s resolution and get 2006 off to a good start by applying for a grant from its community grants programme. 

 

Groups looking to improve their local facilities or provide new ones are eligible to apply for a slice of the £100,000 fund.   In the past Babergh has funded projects including play equipment at Bures, £25,000 for Lavenham Community Centre, and £10,000 for Newton Village Hall.

 

Sue Bulmer, Babergh’s grants officer said, “This fund supports a wide range of local projects from village halls to play equipment as well as new sports facilities and improvements to existing ones”

 

The closing date for applications to be returned is 1st March 2006.

 

A review of all Babergh grants programmes; intended for 2005 has been rescheduled for 2006.
