Babergh District Council’s Sort It Crew are visiting Sudbury’s Waitrose supermarket as part of their campaign to offer advice and guidance on recycling issues.
The Government-funded Sort-It Crew will be outside the Station Road store on Friday 25th February from 9 am until 5 pm. As well as advising on the Council’s TwinBin recycling scheme, they can provide hints and tips on garden waste recycling and composting as well as other ideas to help minimise household waste - and improve the environment.
The Sort-It Crew have been working their way around the Babergh district since November last year. They have been carrying out door-to-door canvassing exercises, consulting with households about the TwinBin Scheme and listening to residents’ views on recycling in general.
Babergh District Council’s Waste Project Officer Susan Wright has strong praise for the work of the Sort-It Crew, and would encourage local shoppers to go along and meet them next Friday: “During the course of the Sort It For Suffolk campaign, householders who already recycle have been impressed at some of the advice given on ways to recycle even more of their waste, helping to reduce the amount which ends up in landfill every year”.
Residents unable to make the Roadshow at Waitrose next Friday can receive free advice on recycling and composting matters by calling Babergh’s FREEPHONE waste advice line on 0800 018 5989.
