HAVE YOU GOT IT SORTED?

Summary

Babergh District Council will be holding a Recycling Roadshow on Monday 25th July at Tesco’s Supermarket, Copdock Interchange.

Babergh District Council will be holding a Recycling Roadshow on Monday 25th July at Tesco’s Supermarket, Copdock Interchange.

Teaming up with ‘Slim Your Bin’, experts from Babergh will be on hand to help anyone wanting more advice on recycling and managing their household waste.   As well as finding out what happens to the items put out for recycling, there will also be examples of everyday items made from recyclable materials.  At the same time, keen gardeners and allotment holders can find out how to get hold of compost bins at very special rates.

Babergh’s Waste Project Officer, Susan Wright said “It’s amazing how much the average household can recycle – there’s also been an increase in the amount of interest shown for home composting this year.   All of this helps to reduce the amount of rubbish going to landfill.  Every little bit helps, whether recycled into other everyday things or made into compost to be used in the garden”.

The Recycling Roadshow kicks off at 9.00 a.m. and the team will be on hand until 4.30 p.m. to answer questions and offer advice to members of the public.

For those who can’t make the 25th July, there is a one day compost bin sale on Sunday 31st July  at the Copdock Interchange Park and Ride.  Compost bins can be bought and taken away for as little as £3.00 each.  The compost bin sale  runs from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
