Summary

Babergh District Council is putting out the call for people in the district who make a real difference to their local communities and schools.

Babergh District Council is putting out the call for people in the district who make a real difference to their local communities and schools.

Babergh’s Community Achievement Awards scheme, now in its 14th year, highlights local projects that help individuals, communities and schools and rewards those who consistently make life better for others in the community.

Jill Barton, organiser of the CAA scheme says “I am confident that we will receive a great many nominations for people who make a real difference in their villages and schools.  Following last year’s successful award ceremony  where we recognised a number of young people under the age of 18, I am hopeful that we will receive an even greater number of nominations in this category this year”.

The CAA scheme is once again  sponsored by Prolog, the Sudbury based e-commerce business specialists.  The Awards Ceremony will be held at  Stoke by Nayland Club on Wednesday 8th March 2006.  Mark Murphy from BBC Radio Suffolk’s Breakfast Programme will preside over the event.

Nomination forms have been circulated to Parish Councils and parish meetings, schools and other recognised community organisations such as the Suffolk Association of Voluntary Organisations, Community Education Youth Service and the Bridge Project in Sudbury.  A full list of these organisations can be found on Babergh’s website  .

So …. if you know someone who makes a real difference to the community, nomination forms can be obtained from Jill Barton, Community Achievement Awards Organiser, Babergh District Council, Corks Lane, Hadleigh, Ipswich IP7 6SJ.
