There are a number of statutory inspections which must be carried out, depending on the works. The stages when it is necessary to notify us and the statutory notices required are:
- Commencement of work - 2 days prior to inspection;
- Foundation excavations - 1day prior to inspection;
- Concrete in foundations - 1 day prior to inspection;
- Oversite preparation - 1 day prior to inspection;
- Damp-proof course - 1 day prior to inspection;
- Drainage before covering - 1 day prior to inspection;
- Drainage after haunching or covering - Within 5 days.
- Occupation of the building or part of the building - 5 days prior to occupation
- Completion of work - Within 5 days
It may also be necessary for the inspecting officer to carry out additional inspections to ensure compliance with the Building Regulations.

If a notice is received before 10.00am, an inspection of the work can in most cases be carried out the same day.
