Local Development Scheme (LDS)
Summary
The Local Development Scheme sets out Babergh District Council's timetable regarding the preparation and production of Local Development Framework documents.
The Local Development Scheme provides a framework for the preparation of the Local Development Framework (LDF) over the next three years. This document outlines Babergh's timetable for producing the range of documents that will make up the LDF.
The downloadable Local Development Scheme (PDF, 1.4Mb) was adopted by the Council in July 2007 .
Regular monitoring and review of the LDF will take place and will inform future views of the approved LDS. As a result, it is likely that some of the dates and other details within it (such as its list of documents to be produced) will need to be revised to take into account changes in circumstances over time.
Please note that the Local Development Scheme for the Babergh District is currently under review and the updated LDS will be posted on the website. In the meantime we are preparing a new draft programme and once this has been finalised it will be posted on the website as an update to the current LDS document. The most important current development is the production of the Core Strategy part of the LDF. It is not anticipated that work will start on the Site Specific Allocations or Development Control Policies before significant progress has been made in terms of adopting a Core Strategy for the District.
