Adoption of the Babergh Local Plan Alteration No. 2 (2006)

The Council considered representations to the Proposed Modifications at their meeting on 11^th April 2006, and the notice of intention to adopt the Plan  (PDF 6.26kb) was published on 13^th April 2006. The Plan was formally adopted  (PDF 6.18kb) by the Council on Thursday 1^st June 2006 and became operative for development control purposes from that date.

The adopted version of the Babergh Local Plan Alteration No. 2 (2006) comprises:

• Babergh Local Plan Alteration No. 2 Second Deposit Draft – May 2003;
• Post Inquiry Modifications, January 2006;
• Appendix B to Paper E314 to the Strategy Committee (PDF 458kb) 30^th March 2006; and
• Appendix B (Revised) for Agenda Item 8(c) (PDF 140kb) Council meeting 11^th April 2006

This is the final chapter in a detailed process that has spanned many years of discussions and consultations with many different groups – including local communities, developers, pressure groups and Government bodies.

Please note that the Local Plan covers the period 2006 – 2016, although it will be replaced before the official expiry date.

Work on documents forming part of our Local Development Framework is underway.
