March 2009 update

The applicant has made some relatively minor changes to the Environmental Statement submitted with the application, and this has led to the replacement of some parts of the document.

The Changes made to the Environmental Statement are explained in the applicant’s letter dated 11th March 2009.

Part 1 of the Statement (the written statement) is replaced in its entirety from the version submitted to the Council in September 2008.

One of the figures in Part 2 of the Environmental Statement has been re-nuMbered.

Please ensure that these documents are read in conjunction with the elements of the Environmental Statement which remains unchanged (see September 2008 updates).

September 2008 Update

The Council has received a revised Environmental Statement and further revised drawings illustrating amendments to the car parking layouts on some parts of the site.

May 2008 Update

The Council received a nuMber of revised plans from the applicant detailing amendments to their scheme. The council has held back on consulting on these plans pending the submission of a revised Environmental Statement. The Statement has recently been submitted (see below) and the plans received in May 2008 are now open to comment.

December 2007 Update

The applicant’s have submitted further drawings to illustrate some changes to their proposals. These relate to some of the proposed plots in the south east and south west corners of the site. Furthermore, additional information has been provided in the form of i) an arboricultural impact assessment, ii) noise surveys and iii) a drainage strategy. These details have been subject to a further period of public consultation which expired on 24th December 2007. Any late representations received following the expiry date but in advance of a decision being taken on the application will be taken into account by the Council.

October 2007 Update

The owners of the former HMS Ganges site have submitted amendments to the current reserved matters application for the erection of a retirement community development (404 dwellings) with nursing home and associated facilities. Outline planning permission has already been obtained for this development (ref application nuMber B/88/01560/OUT). The reserved matters being considered now are for the siting, design and external appearance of the buildings, means of access to and the landscaping of the site.

The revised reserved matters submission contains close to 200 drawings, the majority of which do not appear here. These are predominantly the elevations and floor plans of the proposed buildings and can be viewed at the Council Offices during normal business hours which are 9.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Thursday and 9.00 am to 4.30 pm on Friday.
