Animal Welfare

Summary

The Council undertakes a number of duties in respect of animals and their welfare.

Information on various licences for animal establishments can be found under the heading Business and the sub-heading Licensing and Registration.

Animals kept under conditions that are liable to be prejudicial to health or a nuisance to the general public can be investigated by the Environmental Health department, and appropriate action taken. See under the heading Environment and Health, and the sub-heading Environmental Protection.
