Payments of Excess Charge Notices (ECNs) must be made within 28 days of issue. The charge is £55 if you have received a parking fine from a Babergh car park, however this is reduced to £25 if paid within 14 days of issue. The charge is £75 if you have received a parking fine from a Mid Suffolk car park, however this is reduced to £25 if paid within 14 days of issue. Whichever payment method you chose to use, it is essential that you include your notice number, as failure to include this, or the wrong number, can delay your payment.
Once a payment is made an ECN can not be challenged by appeal.
Payments can be made online by debit or credit card.
Payments can be made by telephone using a debit or credit card. During office hours (9am to 5pm Monday to Friday) payments can be made by calling 0300 1234000. Alternatively, payments can be made via the Automated Payments Hotline (24 hours a day) by calling 0845 372 4112 and choosing the 'pay car park charges' option. Note that calls to the Automated Payments Hotline cost three pence per minute plus your phone company’s access charge.
Cheque or postal order payments can be sent to Customer Services (Car Park Payments), Babergh District Council, Corks Lane, Hadleigh, IPSWICH IP7 6SJ, with the completed slip at the bottom of your ECN. Cheques or postal orders should be made payable to 'Babergh District Council'. If you require a receipt, please also enclose a stamped addressed envelope. Do not send cash.
Cash payments can be made at the town hall in Sudbury.
