Call for Sites Submissions

The document has been produced to provide a transparent public record of all land submissions which have been made to the Councils (Babergh and Mid Suffolk) for potential housing or employment development allocation in the emerging Joint Local Plan. It follows from the Councils’ two rounds of ‘call for sites’ undertaken during 2014 and 2016.

Sites have been grouped into settlement maps and listed alphabetically by parish. Where no parish is listed, no sites have been received in that area. All sites listed in the document have been provisionally mapped as accurately as possible using the best information available. Some site boundaries may be subject to minor change where accuracy improvement is necessary.

Please note: the sites listed in this document are only a factual record of everything that was promoted to the Council through the Joint Local Plan process at a given point in time. It is NOT a list of proposed allocation sites from the Council and therefore public comments cannot be made at this time – this will be possible later in the Joint Local Plan process. It is also NOT a comprehensive schedule of current planning applications, nor does it bear any relationship to the likelihood or status of any future planning applications.

Live and historic planning applications can be searched by using the Councils’ Online Public Access system.

No weight or status whatsoever is attributed to sites listed in this document. A separate planning assessment is being undertaken on these sites and further detail will be published in due course via the Councils Strategic Housing & Economic Land Availability Assessment (SHELAA) & Joint Local Plan.

For further information on SHELAA, please see the official Government Guidance - Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment
