By virtue of the Licensing Act 2003 (“the Act”), the Licensing Authorities of both Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils are required to produce a Statement of Licensing Policy.
The purpose of the Statement of Licensing Policy is to inform all persons with an interest in the licensing process of the parameters within which Babergh Licensing Authority (Babergh District Council) or Mid Suffolk Licensing Authority (Mid Suffolk District Council) (depending on the district concerned) will make its licensing decisions (where its discretion is engaged) and advises on the legislative framework.
The revised Statement of Licensing Policy approved by Full Council for Babergh District Council on 15 December 2015 and for Mid Suffolk District Council on 17 December 2015, takes effect from 7 January 2016 for a period of five years (unless sooner revision is required).
This document refers to a multi-agency enforcement concordat and protocol, available separately. If you have any concerns that a premises is unlicensed or breaching the terms and conditions of a licence (or certificate), then please contact a member of the Licensing Team. Serious matters such as crime, disorder or anti-social behaviour should be reported to the Police.
