This summer holiday Abbeycroft Leisure has put together a huge and exciting holiday programme in seven towns across West, South and Mid Suffolk, with the support of Suffolk County Council and Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils, to provide activity days for families and children in receipt of free school meals. 700 families will be provided with the opportunity to come and join a Family Park Cooking session in their local area.
During the session, families will spend a day in the great outdoors – learning how to build campfires, before preparing lunch from a recipe written by top Suffolk chef James Carn. More fun and active outdoor activities will be on offer after lunch. At the end of the day families will be sent home with a box of ingredients for five meals, as well as recipe cards – allowing families to practice the cooking skills learnt during the day, with the help of online videos to support every recipe!
If you are eligible for free school meals, have a child over 8 years old and haven’t already been referred by your school please email Explore Outdoor to book your place.
