To encourage the planting of trees and to promote the many benefits which trees bring to our communities, Mid Suffolk District Council would like to gift a tree to every child born in 2019 to mark their birth.

This offer is open to every family with a child born or adopted in Mid Suffolk from 1 January 2019 to 31 December 2019 and is based on proposals made by Green Party Councillors on Mid Suffolk District Council and supported by the administration.

Families can register either when the child is born or in advance as the trees will need to be collected during the tree planting season (between November and January).

Anyone living in the Mid Suffolk District, with space available in their garden can apply, via the online form below.

Unfortunately, if you do not live in the Mid Suffolk District area, you aren't eligible to apply.

You can do a postcode search to find out if you live in the district.

Families that do not have a garden or space available for a tree, please contact us to discuss options as it may be possible find an alternative location to plant your tree, such as place of work, nursery, community orchard or local school. Trees must be planted within the district area.

There will be special collection events arranged in January for families to collect their tree, and get advice on tree planting and maintenance.

Families will be able to choose from a range of trees that have been specially selected, so whether your garden is large or small there should be a suitable tree. Tree planting is easy and fun to do with the whole family.
