Don’t lose your voice - residents are urged to look out for their annual canvass letters from Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils.

Local residents are being warned not to lose their voice on the decisions that affect them by making sure their electoral registration details are up to date.

The annual canvass process, which councils have to carry out by law, ensures that councils can keep the electoral register up to date, and identify any citizens who are not registered so that they can be encouraged to do so.

Residents who are not currently registered or whose name does not appear in the letters we send, will need to register to be able to vote, the easiest way is online.

Arthur Charvonia Electoral Registration Officer at Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils said:

“It’s really important that everyone who is entitled to vote is able to do so. I encourage residents to keep an eye out for their letter, so we can make sure we have the right details on the electoral register for every address across the districts. This is particularly important this year, given the current public health situation, as it will help avoid the need for home visits from our canvassers.”
