Careeriosity to showcase opportunities in marketing
Young people in Sudbury and the surrounding areas are being invited to find out more about a career in marketing through Babergh District Council’s Careeriosity programme.
The free event for 13 – 24 year olds is being run by Sudbury based marketing agency Mackman Group on Wednesday 1 June (10am – 12pm) at Meadow House.
Careeriosity is an initiative from Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils which aims to connect young people with local businesses to showcase the wide range of career opportunities in the area.
Babergh & Mid Suffolk offers amazing opportunities for work and business, and Careeriosity demonstrates to variety of these roles in an accessible and engaging way.
Cllr John Ward, leader of Babergh District Council and cabinet member for economic growth, said:
“We have an incredible range of businesses in our district and our Careeriosity programme provides a great opportunity for young people to see and hear directly from them and finding out what career paths are open to them. Learning directly from successful businesses can provides invaluable inspiration and awareness of the different pathways for their possible futures.”
Attendees will be able to meet key team members and try their hand at marketing disciplines including Creative and Digital, Research, Content and Communications and Video and Photography. They will also have the opportunity to get advice about how to get into marketing, transferable skills they have learnt at school and top tips for job hunting in this area. There will be advice about specialist marketing qualifications from the Chartered Institute of Marketing. This will be supported by representatives from West Suffolk College who will provide details of their courses and apprenticeships.

Attendees will be able to learn about getting into marketing and CIM routes for aspiring marketers, such as apprenticeships and higher level qualifications, and we would encourage anyone interested to attend and find out about this dynamic sector.”
Mackman Group has been recognised on a national level for its branding, marketing and research work, including being awarded a coveted Market Research Society Operations Award in 2021 and the Marsh Digital Volunteer of the Year Award in 2022.
