Chance to give views on proposals to improve walking and cycling link in Stowmarket

Posted by Communications on 28 September 2021 | Comments

Stowmarket residents have the chance to give their views on proposed improvements to a walking and cycling route between Lowry Way and the town centre.

The proposed improvements, designed to provide sustainable and safer links between residential developments, schools, and employment areas would see:

  • widening existing footpaths to a standard suitable for cycling
  • providing new pedestrian and cycle crossings
  • improving signage to help make walking and cycling easier and more convenient for people

The investment forms part of Suffolk County Council’s active travel commitments, which was awarded funding by the Department for Transport.

To leave views go to the Stowmarket proposals pages on the Suffolk County Council website. The consultation closes on October 25.

For further information and to see a prioritised list of walking and cycling schemes visit Suffolk County Council's Active Travel webpages.
