Cllr Wendy Turner resigns from Mid Suffolk District Council

Posted by Communications on 20 December 2021 | Comments

Cllr Wendy Turner has resigned from Mid Suffolk District Council, having moved away from the area to be closer to her family. She represented the Thurston Green ward since her election in May 2019, alongside Cllr Harry Richardson.

Cllr Turner, who represented the Green Party and formed part of Mid Suffolk’s Green and Liberal Democrat Group, thanked council colleagues and said:

“It has been a pleasure to be an elected councillor.  I have learnt so much over the past few years and believe I have carried out my duties to the best of my ability.”

Leader of Mid Suffolk District Council, Cllr Suzie Morley said:

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Cllr Turner for her service to Mid Suffolk and in particular for representing the people of Thurston and its neighbouring parishes over the last two and half years.  Regardless of any political differences, I am immensely grateful to all our councillors for stepping up to do what they feel is right for their local communities.”

A notice of casual vacancy – the first step in the process of a by-election being called – has now been published.
