Mid Suffolk Chairman adds his support to BBC's Kit Out the Nation campaign
Mid Suffolk District Council Chairman Cllr Paul Ekpenyong has supported the BBC’s Kit Out the Nation campaign by donating kit at the Stowmarket Football Club drop off point, which has been sponsored by Precon.
Chairman Cllr Ekpenyong said, “I am delighted to support this wonderful initiative. Kit out the Nation is a great opportunity to work towards our ambition for all our residents to lead active and healthy lives, a commitment which has been given the priority it deserves in our council’s recently adopted Wellbeing Strategy.
“Having the right equipment makes a difference and I encourage anyone with any sports kit, new or old, to get involved and donate, helping children take part in a sport that could make a difference in their life and develop a new skill.”
The BBC campaign encourages young people to get involved in a wide range of sports and gets them moving and able to take advantage of the formal and informal physical activity available.
The campaign asks people to take the time to search their cupboards, sheds and attics for unwanted kit and equipment, and then bring them along to a local drop off point.
If you have any sports kit you want to donate, head down to Stowmarket Town FC drop off point, by Friday 15 October at Bury Road, Stowmarket, Suffolk, IP14 1JQ
