• Orchestras Live and City of London Sinfonia return to the United Reformed Church, Stowmarket

• The Musical Puzzle is a special 10th anniversary series of award-winning Lullaby Concerts

• Concerts designed for 2-7 year olds and parents and carers

• All performances accessible and BSL interpreted

City of London Sinfonia, one of the country’s leading professional chamber orchestras, will be performing two Lullaby Concerts at the United Reformed Church, Stowmarket on Friday 26 October 2018.

Specially designed for children aged 2 – 7 and their parents and carers, the concerts will feature an exciting blend of audience participation, fun and fabulous orchestral music, all woven together by charismatic presenter Claire Henry.

In this year’s concert, entitled The Musical Puzzle, the young audience will be at the heart of a musical puzzle as they are joined by the musicians from City of London Sinfonia in an exploration of shapes, puzzles and orchestral music. Claire will work with the children to complete their challenges and celebrate the success of their musical quest.

The team will be joined for a second year by co-presenter Ruth Montgomery and all performances will be BSL interpreted. Following each concert children will be able to try a range of orchestral instruments for themselves.

The Lullaby Concerts are produced by Orchestras Live, a national music charity that brings orchestral music to thousands of people in culturally under-served areas across England, working in partnership with local authorities across the country. This year’s Lullaby tour will go also to Clacton-on-Sea, Harlow and Chelmsford in Essex, and Haverhill, Lowestoft and Newmarket in Suffolk. In 2016, the Lullaby Concerts won Best Family Event in the national Family Arts Festival awards.

Cllr Julie Flatman, Portfolio Holder for Community Capacity Building and Engagement at Mid Suffolk District Council, said “We are thrilled to be bringing the Lullaby Concerts back to Stowmarket. Over the years these interactive concerts have become very popular with families across Suffolk, and this exciting new show is designed to be educational, inclusive and great fun for all young children.”
