Get online

Our Digital Journey is here to help you get online. Through it, you can enrol on digital skills courses and learn more about access to electronic devices.

Getting online is easier than you may think.

Why get online?

There are a number of benefits to getting online and using the internet. They include:

  • communicating with friends and family
  • saving money (via access to price comparison websites)
  • learning new skills
  • being part of a community
  • helping people manage physical and mental wellbeing
  • online shopping
  • online banking and/or public services

How do I get online?

To get online, you will need a device that can connect to the internet. This could be a laptop, smart phone or tablet. You will also need an internet connection – via WiFi, mobile data or access to a public network.

In this section, we’ve put together a number of resources that provide you with more information about:

  • getting online
  • getting an internet connection
  • staying safe online

How can the Councils help?

In partnership with Suffolk Libraries, we have made a number of iPads available for loan, from libraries within the districts. You can borrow an iPad from the libraries in Stowmarket, Needham Market, Hadleigh or Sudbury.

These iPads automatically connect to the internet and are pre-built with resources designed to help you develop your digital skills. Devices are available to order to each library for collection.

Visit Suffolk Libraries' website for more information about how to borrow an iPad.
