My waste hasn't been collected

We collect more than 80,000 bins across the districts every week.

Sometimes, collections can be delayed by factors out of our control, such as roadworks, obstructive parking, vehicle breakdowns and adverse or severe weather.

To avoid unnecessary missed collections, please ensure that:

  • The correct bin / authorised sacks are put out by 6.30am on your collection day, or left out the night before
  • The bin / authorised sacks are placed at the curtilage of the property, at the point nearest the public highway and clearly visible – unless we have agreed otherwise
  • Bin lids are firmly closed
  • The bin / authorised sacks are not too heavy – they need to be easily moved
  • Any additional refuse is put in an authorised sack (we don't accept black sacks) and placed by the refuse bin
  • Any additional recycling is put in a clear / see-through sack and placed by the recycling bin
  • Any cardboard which can’t fit in the bin, needs to be flattened, with all packaging / polystyrene removed, and placed by the recycling bin
  • Once emptied, bins must be taken back into the property boundary by 7:00pm on collection day – unless the collection has been delayed, or we have requested that the bin is left out

Check what should go in your bins - If your bin contains items it shouldn't, it may not be emptied or stickered to let you know why.

Before reporting a missed collection

Please check below for any known delays in your area. If your road is listed, it means we are already aware that your waste has yet to be collected, and you do not need to report a missed collection. Please continue to leave your bin out and the collection will be made as soon as possible.
