We always want to encourage households to generate as little waste as possible.

Recycling centres and banks

Household and garden waste, plus large and electrical items, can be taken to a Suffolk Recycling Centre, which are managed by Suffolk County Council.

Plus, there are more than 1,000 recycling banks in Suffolk for a wide range of materials, including:

  • batteries
  • electrical items
  • textiles and clothing

Large and bulky item collections

Large and electrical items can be taken to a Suffolk Recycling Centre

Or, we can collect and dispose of larger household items for you via our bulky item collection service, including:

  • electrical items, such as TVs, monitors and computers
  • fridges and freezers
  • furniture
  • sofas and armchairs
  • washing machines, tumble dryers and dishwashers

If you're struggling to reduce your household waste, and your bins are often full before collection day, you may be eligible for a larger or additional bin - Find out how to apply for a larger or additional bin
