Inspiring the next generation to explore their future in creative careers

26/01/26
Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils, in collaboration with East Suffolk District Council and MENTA, have launched a brand-new initiative designed to ignite curiosity, confidence, and ambition in young people

Careeriosity has been developed to support young people across the region by providing free access to creative skills development, industry insight, and practical career exploration opportunities.

Careeriosity aims to bridge the gap between education and employment by offering young people hands-on experiences to discover different creative industries, develop key skills, and connect with real professionals. Through interactive workshops, inspiring talks, and practical sessions, Careeriosity encourages participants to explore what’s possible and build a clearer picture of their future pathway.

Cllr Tim Weller, Mid Suffolk District Council cabinet member for environment, culture and wellbeing, said: “I am delighted that we’ve been able to support Careeriosity once again. We are committed to investing in the skills and prospects of the next generation and bringing together some of the leading organisations and industry experts to inspire students and young people is just one of the ways that we are doing this. I would encourage young people to make use of opportunities like this and explore a range of career options.”
Councillor Derek Davis, Babergh District Council’s Cabinet Member for Sustainable Economy said: “Many young people may be unaware of the range of innovative and exciting job opportunities that are available in our region.  These workshops are a great way for them to try their hand at something different and gather information about pursuing a career in a creative field.”
Alex Till, MENTA CEO, said: “Careeriosity is all about empowering young people to dream big, explore their strengths, and understand the opportunities available to them,”
Whether they’re considering apprenticeships, further education, or entering the workforce, we want to equip them with the confidence and information they need to take their next step.”

Careeriosity is open to young people aged 12 to 25 across East Suffolk, Mid Suffolk, and Babergh District Council areas, and participation is completely free. The programme is designed to be inclusive, accessible, and supportive of diverse interests and backgrounds.
