Household Support Fund

The UK Government has funded a scheme to help those most in need with the significantly rising cost of living.

This funding covers the period 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024 inclusive.

Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils are responsible for administering Housing Cost applications to the Household Support Grant if you live within our two districts. You may be able to access the fund if you are struggling to pay your rent and service charges.

The eligible spend for this fund does not include help towards mortgage costs. If you are struggling with your mortgage payments, you must contact your lender directly to discuss your options. If you are experiencing any threat of homelessness please make contact with the Housing Solutions team at the contact number below.

Applications for help with Housing Costs from the Household Support Grant will be assessed by a Tenancy Support Officer, they will make direct contact with you either by telephone or email to gather the information they require, you will be asked to provide proof of eligibility and evidence of your financial circumstances.

To make an application, please contact Housing Solutions on 0300 123 4000 (option 3) for further information.
