Suffolk Police and Crime Commissioner

The Police Area Returning Officer (PARO) is West Suffolk for the Suffolk Police and Crime Commissioner election.

All electors who are currently registered - and are eligible to vote - will receive a poll card from Friday 22 March 2024.

On the day, polls will be open from 7am to 10pm.

Your poll card will tell you the polling station where you'll need to cast your vote.

Chilton (Stowmarket) Ward

A resignation of a Councillor from the Mid Suffolk District Ward of Chilton (Stowmarket) has triggered a District By-election, which will now coincide with the current May election timetable.

As a contested election, electors within the Stowmarket ward of Chilton will vote on candidates to represent their ward on Mid Suffolk District Council.

Ways to vote

To vote in an election, you must be registered. 

If you've recently turned 18, or moved house, you may not be registered. You can register to vote online.

If you would like to vote in person at a polling station, you will need valid Voter ID.

If you are unable to attend the polling station, you can apply to vote by post. You are also able to apply for a proxy vote.
