Right of first refusal

If you would like to sell your property, you must offer to sell it back to us if you:

• bought your property on or after 18 January 2005
• are moving within the first ten years of purchasing your home from us

If you bought your home before 18 January 2005, you do not need to offer it back to us, or our permission to sell it.

Notify us of your sale

If you sell your leaseholder property, it is important that you let us (our Shared Legal Team) know as soon as possible. 

The buyer’s solicitors should provide them with a legal notice of assignment.

Until we have been provided with this information, you – as the former leaseholder – will still be responsible for the property. We will continue to send any relevant information to you.

Sell your property – information for leaseholders

If you plan to sell your property, you can apply for a leasehold information pack (a LPE1 form). There is a charge for this.

It will contain information about your home, as well as service charges that are payable.

It is important to remember that:

• all outstanding charges and loans must be cleared before the sale completes
• your solicitor retains sufficient monies for any charges that have not yet been invoiced
• we are not able to change the ownership details on the property, until we have received a notice of assignment from the buyer’s solicitors

Payment for a LPE1 form is needed before we complete your pack. Once we have received payment, your pack will be completed within eight weeks.
