Dried out, water-based paint can be placed in your refuse (general rubbish) bin or taken to a Suffolk Recycling Centre.

We offer two collection services:
Non-domestic organisations, such as businesses, charities, schools and farms, can book a hazardous waste collection via Suffolk Recycles.

Household hazardous waste collections
The charge for our household collection service - for up to 70 containers of hazardous waste - is £48.16 per collection.
We accept:
- DIY products (for example, paint stripper)
- flammable liquids (for example, white spirit or paraffin)
- garden chemicals (for example, pesticides or weed killers)
- household cleaning products
- motoring products (for example, antifreeze, petrol or diesel)
- poisons
- solvent-based paints
We do not accept:
- waste from businesses
- clinical waste
- construction and demolition waste
- explosives
- fibrous asbestos
- flammable film stock (cellulose acetate)
- fluorescent tubes
- fireworks or yacht flares
- helium or returnable gas cylinders
- radioactive waste
- water or dry powder fire extinguishers
Please note: For us to carry out your collection, each separate item to be collected needs to be listed on your booking request form. Items must be boxed ahead of collection.

Once we receive payment, our contractor will be in contact to arrange a collection date.
Household bonded asbestos collections
The charge for our household bonded asbestos collection service - for up to 50kg of bonded asbestos - is £80.17 per collection.
Before booking, please make sure that:
- the asbestos is from a domestic source
- you have the dimensions and weight of the asbestos
- the asbestos can be easily lifted by one person
- the sheets are unbroken
The sheets to be collected must be:
- wrapped individually, with heavy duty (1000 gauge) polythene
- sealed with tape
- labelled 'WARNING - CONTAINS ASBESTOS - DO NOT INHALE DUST'

Please note: If you have large quantities of bonded asbestos for collection (including sheds, garages and outhouses), you will need to contact a licensed asbestos contractor.
