CIL Bid Information
For all CIL bid enquiries please submit the CIL Funding Enquiry Form to the Infrastructure Team.
CIL Funded Applications
The District Councils mapping software now displays all CIL funding applications which have been approved.
Once you have found or searched your area/location please go to Map Feature and select Community Infrastructure and then CIL Funding.
CIL Expenditure
CIL will be spent by the Councils on infrastructure projects anywhere within or outside the Districts, to support development within the Districts.
The CIL Expenditure Framework was approved by Babergh District Council on 24 April 2018 and by Mid Suffolk District Council on 26 April 2018. It was first reviewed and approved by Full Council on 18 and 19 March 2019. The CIL Expenditure Framework and the CIL Expenditure Communication Strategy went through a second review in early 2020. On 20 April 2020, amendments to earlier versions were agreed and adopted by the Councils. A third review took place over Winter 2020/21 and the changes were agreed by both Councils on 23 and 25 March 2021. A fourth review took place in Summer 2022 and the changes were approved by Babergh District Council in July 2022 and by Mid Suffolk District Council in October 2022. The fifth review took place by Full Council and the CIL Expenditure Framework was approved by both Councils in December 2022 and January 2023, the final changes were approved in both Babergh District Council and Mid Suffolk District Council in March 2023. The most recent review took place by Full Council and the CIL Expenditure Framework was approved by Babergh District Council on 19 March 2024 and Mid Suffolk District Council on 20 March 2024.
The revised documents are supported by the CIL Expenditure Calendar 2024/25.
