You can submit your own planning application - or you can hire a planning agent to work on your behalf.
You can apply for householder planning applications, or discharge of conditions, via our online forms.
We accept payment by debit or credit card.
If you are applying for discharge of conditions, please read our frequently asked questions about discharge of conditions for more information.
Please note: Our online forms can take a moment to load. If you have any problems, please contact us.
Once you have submitted your application, you will receive a receipt via email. Our Validation team will check the contents of your submission and your payment details.

You can submit a planning application through a number of routes:
• Planning Portal (widely used national service)
• Alternative digital submission platforms
• Direct submission to the Council (we are looking to develop additional online forms, for other planning works, in the future)
You can apply for all other types of planning permission via Planning Portal's website.
You will be able to attach any relevant electronic plans or drawings when you apply.
Please note: Planning Portal is a third party system used by local planning authorities across the country. We are not responsible for any additional charges that you may have to pay when applying via their system.
If you have any questions, please email the Support Team at the Planning Portal.
Under planning legislation, a valid application is defined by national/local requirements and the correct fee, regardless of how it is submitted. The Council does not require applicants to use a specific commercial provider.
